Private lessons are available for participants of all ages. Levels available for instruction (from the Learn to Skate USA Curricula) include Snowplow Sam, Basic Skills Levels 1-6, Pre-Free Skate, Hockey Levels 1-4, and Adult Basic levels. Lessons are sold as a single session ticket. Contact Jada Gullstrand at email@example.com to inquire about availability of instructors from the Michigan Tech Learn to Skate Program staff. Jada will locate an available instructor who will then contact the participant to schedule the day/time of the lesson.
Lesson tickets are purchased at the SDC Ticket Office after an instructor and lesson date have been assigned. On the day of the lesson, show the lesson ticket to the skate guard at the entry to the ice. The instructor will collect the lesson ticket on the ice.
Private skate lessons are held during public skate times only and are based on availability of instructors. If a skate instructor is not available, the participant will be placed on a wait list and contacted as soon as an instructor is available. Public Skating is generally offered on the weekends during the academic year, September - March, and will also be offered on Sundays throughout the summer. Visit Public Skating for the current schedule.
