Fitbarre

 

Registration and payment can be completed online, by phone at 906-487-2073, or at the SDC Ticket Office. Participants must sign a waiver of liability prior to participation. The SDC is not responsible for lost or stolen property. Please do not leave valuables unattended.

Transform your entire body using small, targeted movements to focus on areas that often challenge us most: hips, thighs, seat, abs, and arms.  Each 50-minute workout will challenge your mind and body as you work at your own level to focus on creating long, lean muscles and improving overall strength and flexibility.  This class derives elements from ballet, yoga, and Pilates, but no prior experience is necessary.

NOTE: Each Fitbarre class is first come, first serve due to limited space/equipment.

Moderate to high intensity. Classes are made so that anyone from beginners to an experienced person can benefit from this class.

Special Requirements

Comfortable, breathable clothing with socks or dance shoes. No previous experience necessary.

About the Instructor

Traci Webb

Traci Webb is a 2005 graduate of Michigan Tech with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. As a compliment to her mostly sedentary career, Traci pursued running and biking for fitness, and eventually began competing in half marathons and cross-country cycling races. She began teaching Fitbarre at an independent studio in 2009 in Northville, Michigan, as a way to improve performance and also to focus on the mind-body connection. Traci enjoys the challenges and camaraderie provided by pursuing fitness activities in group settings and strives to offer accessible fitness programming for every body in the community.

Outside of work, you’ll find Traci biking, hiking, snowshoeing, skate skiing, you name it… and inspiring others to join her along the way. She lives in Houghton with her husband and two energetic young sons.
